Friends! I've signed up to run the Hackney half-marathon (my first!) in May. I'd like to use this as an opportunity to highlight the work of Journey to Justice and ask for your help in raising money to continue their endeavor of teaching about the UK's history of social justice and human rights activism.
I've been volunteering with JtoJ since 2014; initially helping to put together their travelling exhibition about human and civil rights movements and went on to coordinate volunteers for the 2016 Tower Hamlets' exhibition programme.
Their mission is to inspire and equip people to take action for social justice through by telling stories of those who have done and continue to - focusing on the power of the arts. They work with all age groups, especially those who feel without a voice and welcome and support anyone who feels a responsibility for human rights.
Your donation would go towards Journey to Justice's ongoing training with schools and community groups; touring the exhibition; programming related events; and the practicalities of running the organisation in London.
To find out more about the Journey to Justice please visit the website www.journeytojustice.org.uk and get in contact if you'd be interested in volunteering (it's fun and the JtoJ team is wonderful!)
