Saturday 30th March 2013 my childhood best friend lost her battle with Cervical Cancer. Faye Knowles Chapman 19th September 1985- 30th march 2013.
Faye had a passion and a true talent for dancing, following her heart she travelled the world doing what she loved, but her dream was to be cut short when she was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer aged just 24 years old in September 2010. Faye was give the all clear and returned to her contract on the Fred Olsen Braemar Ship.
November 2011 her cancer had returned but this time we had to prepare for the worst Faye was told she was incurable, how could this be happening to my 26 year old best friend? Faye helped me plan my wedding and was my Maid of Honour in October 2012, 13 weeks before she was introduced to my first born Jovi.
A few months after the wedding Faye's health started to deteriorate leading to being admitted to hospital. Her partner Chris left his contract in Germany to be with her, her cousin Becky along with her dad organised a sponsored walk to help fund private treatment for Faye. But sadly a couple of weeks after the walk Faye lost her battle leaving a huge gap in many hearts.
From Faye's passing the charity The Faye Knowles Chapman Foundation was born! helping other young ladies in her shoes to get private screening under the age 25.
On Saturday 8th July I will take part in the Overgate Colour run and the following day Sunday 9th July my husband Eric (Ez) will take part in the Leeds 10k raising awareness and money for The Faye Knowles Chapman Foundation!!
