On June 18th 2016 some friends and I will be sailing in the Eddystone Charity Pursuit. I have entered my boat “FIGMENT" to raise much needed funds for Horizons (Plymouth) a Children's Sailing Charity. The Eddystone Pursuit was set up in 1995 by a Plymouth Yacht Haven berth holder Julia Creeke in memory of her mother, Eleanor Creeke. The Eleanor Creeke Charitable settlement is the major sponsor of this event and donates the annual prize fund which, in addition to the sponsorship has generated hundreds of thousands of pounds for good causes. The Charity Pursuit event follows a 26 nautical mile course from Plymouth to the Eddystone Lighthouse beyond Plymouth Sound and back. All donations will be shared between the two charities.
