Update 12/11/17: Great day running the Sodbury Slog today - the sun came out in time for the start, and with all the rain last week there was plenty of mud and water to wallow in - perfect conditions!. Finished in just over 1hr 37min. A little stiff now, but well worth it. The Willow Tree Centre has been working in South Gloucestershire and Bristol for the last 13 years, providing support for women and their partners facing crisis pregnancy and baby loss. You can read more about its work at the following link: http://www.thewillowtreecentre.org.uk I have been a trustee of the centre for most of that time, and have been impressed by the range of fundraising activities people have engaged in to support the work the Willow Tree Centre does. This year I thought would run in the Sodbury Slog again, taking place on Sunday 12th November. The Sodbury Slog is quite simply not for the faint-hearted! Forget roads - they're for wimps - this is nearly 10 miles of lung-busting, trainer-ruining, hill-climbing, multi-terrain challenge held over and through some of South Gloucestershire's most stunning countryside. Attracting around 1300 runners annually the route uses the same paths, fields, ditches and mudbaths since it's original inception in 1990. The race always coincides with Remembrance Sunday and is preceded by exhortation, a two minute silence and playing of the Last Post, which sets the scene for a memorable day. The race is then started at 11:05. More details can be found here: http://www.sodburyslog.co.uk/ Please help me support the wonderful work the Willow Tree Centre does. Thanks Andrew
