On Sunday November 1st we’ll be cycling 40 miles along the historic Thames cycle way from Putney to Walton-on-Thames and back for Southside Young Leaders Academy. There will be 30 riders in all and if we can reach our target of £5,000 your money will be DOUBLED through £1 for £1 matching.
As one of our supporters you’ll contribute to the Big Literacy Project. This charity supports boys of African and Afro-Caribbean descent from the age of eight top help them reach their full potential and become independent, productive and responsible members of the community.
These boys are living in deprived areas of London and are often at risk of academic exclusion. Their progress at school is severely hampered by poor reading and writing skills. That’s why SYLA has set up the Big Literacy Project which will encourage boys to enjoy reading and enable them to gain confidence in writing and performing their work.
So will you be one of our generous supporters? Every little helps!
