George's Marvellous Bike Ride started in 2012 in memory of my 9 year old son, George. Cerebral Palsy made George's life a lot more complex than most children's and he needed 24 hour care. We, his family, learnt a lot about how precious life is and George inspired all who knew him to 'get up and go'! This Bike ride along the Kennet and Avon Canal ( In 2009/10 George, his younger brother Douglas and myself walked the entire length of the canal to raise funds to go to the Peto Institute in Budapest) was started as a way to help local charities like those who had helped us.
We have funded a garden at Thomas Wolsey School, Ipswich; helped Jonah Wright, a young lad with cerebral palsy buy Boccia equipment - he is now a member of GB Lions Team; donated to Stepping Stones, a preschool for children with disabilities in Trowbridge, Wilts.
Please sponsor me to cycle this beautiful route to help others so much less fortunate than ourselves.
THANKYOU!
