I am running the Coventry Half Marathon in aid of NMC Midlands.
NMC Midlands is the first centre in the region and only the second in the UK to offer essential specialised services to those with muscular dystrophy and other neuromuscular conditions. Muscular dystrophy causes muscles to weaken and waste over time, leading to increasing disability. Some conditions are life limiting and there are currently no cures.
On-going physiotherapy is accepted as slowing the progression of muscle disease, helping people to stay strong for longer, and increasing mental well-being and independence. Regular physiotherapy is not available for people with muscular dystrophy on the NHS. There are over 11,500 people in the Midlands with this condition and NMC Midlands desperately needs funding to help keep the centre open.
Any donation you are able to give will play a huge role in extending the physiotherapy service to those who do not get access to this treatment elsewhere.
