Calderdale SmartMove are a charity that help homeless and vulnerably housed people across Calderdale. They provide housing, support and free education to nearly 400 people every year and the numbers are going up every year.
I have volunteered for them for over 2 years now and the work they do is vital. They also need to raise over £150,000 each year to continue to provide these services which is why I will be taking part in this years sleep out again.
This event is designed to raise awareness of the struggles homeless people go through on a daily basis, luckily we only have to do this for one night which is hard enough on a cold, wet and windy night in November but many people in our area suffer this for much longer.
