Hey! I’m Arne, 20 years old, and I’ll be running the Antwerp Half Marathon on the 22nd of October to raise funds to support Sheenam’s Wish. I’m a medical student at Maastricht University and part of an honours programme group in which we look into Huntington’s Disease. At the Huntington’s Disease Youth Organisation (HDYO) conference in Glasgow in April this year, we met Sheenam’s mother and she told us about the charity that she set up after her daughter was diagnosed with juvenileHD (JHD). Sheenam’s Wish is a charity set up to provide small grants to children and families that are impacted by JHD in the UK. These grants are to be used specifically for the children and their families to enjoy themselves and have fun.
It seemed like a great idea to couple my personal challenge, running my first ever half marathon, to raising money for charity. All the money that is raised will directly benefit those who suffer from JHD. Any type of donation, no matter big or small, are welcome!
Thank you in advance!
Running greetings,
Arne
