On the 24th October I am running a Half Marathon at Bamburgh in aid of the Pelvic Partnership.

When I was pregnant I suffered greatly with PGP (pelvic girdle pain), to the extent that I was house bound and then bed bound for nearly 3 months. The NHS in my area offers no support for this other than paracetamol and crutches, which in the vast majority of cases are ineffective anyway. PGP is a biomechanical issue and is nearly always successfully treated with physio and chiropractic manual adjustments. The Pelvic Partnership are a small charity trying to raise awareness and offer support to sufferers. The mental health impact of PGP is massive, I truly believed I would never be able to walk any great distances again, but here I am running a half marathon! It has cost me a lot of money and a lot of blood, sweat and tears, but I am one of the lucky ones. I am fundraising so that hopefully more women can avoid suffering like I did.
