At present BASIS offers people a space in which to meet but we are soon to offer a monthly creative session. People will be given the opportunity to make various small items, including greetings cards, decorative boxes, table decorations and more.

BASIS was asked by sight impaired people in Thurrock to provide a service for them. They felt there was no where for them to meet up and talk to others with sight loss. At present we are able to provide a meeting place and now they would like to take part in creative activities similar to those that are undertaken in our Basildon resource centre.As with all PAVIS services, it is the people themselves who inform us what they would like to do. We then look in to finding out how.

Sight impaired people will be given confidence in their own abilities. They will be meeting with others and realising that they are not alone in the world of sight loss. If past results are anything to go by then many people are likely to go on to try other things they never thought possible.
