Men’s Minds Matter is a charity organisation who are dedicated to preventing and reducing male suicide rates by building psychological resilience and emotional strength
While women are more likely to be diagnosed with mental health problems, men are less likely to identify with having mental health problems because they don’t want the label that comes with it, find it more difficult to talk to people about how they’re feeling. Due to this, men currently make up 76% of all suicides in the UK since many people tend to stereotype men into thinking they are happy and strong however, very often this is not the case.
Unfortunately, there are many negative stats about men’s mental health, which is why Men’s Minds Matter have been raising awareness of male suicide and focus on developing and delivering specialist psychological suicide interventions. Men are more often than not, forgotten about when it comes to getting support for mental health, and with the growing need to support them because of the difficulties they face, the charity’s goal is to combat this and help get them back on track.
I will be running 150K during May to raise money, this is effectively 5k a day. To some, that might not sound like much but to me, this will be a real challenge. I started couch to 5k last year but have somehow managed to reverse the process in recent months. It won't be pretty, it will be slow but I will do it!
Please contribute what you can, every penny counts!. To top it off, Tradewind have very kindly offered to match whatever I raise, so dig deep as even the smallest donation will go a long way!!
