In 2015, my son, Benjamin Barsby met a tragic and untimely passing at the age of 21 whilst studying Law at university in London. Following his death we were determined to mark our loss of Benjamin by helping to create a more positive outlook for those who are suffering whilst facing mental or emotional distress, especially young men. Working with Nottinghamshire Community Foundation (NCF) we therefore created a charitable fund in Benjamin’s name, with a primary aim of growing it to build a permanent legacy in support of mental and emotional wellbeing and preventative work in Nottinghamshire and the UK. Over the last 2 years we've raised approx. £45,000 & have, so far, donated almost £30,000 to local & national mental health charities, schools & cricket clubs. Our next money raising event is taking place on what would have been Benji's 24th Birthday - September 9th this year. Myself, Beth & several other family & friends are taking part in Newark's ultimate 5k inflatable obstacle run. Those of you that know me will also know that running just isn't my 'thing', but, I'm determined to complete this event on Benji's Birthday in order to raise valuable funds for Benji's fund. I hope that you will support me, my family & friends by donating & helping us reach our £1000.00 target. Thank you - your donation is very much appreciated.
