Hello!
I have signed up to the Bath half for 2 reasons:
The first is that I have been suffering and still suffer with depression and anxiety and running is a good way to boost my mood and allows me to feel a sense of achievement . There was a period of about 2 months where I just didn't want to get out of bed and I felt like I was drowning and being held under water. The medication that I'm on now helps me get more sleep and allows me to have more energy. This means that I find it easier to get up and go on a run! Running gives me an aim in my day which I have found is working really well and I feel better mentally and physically. The Bath Half is giving me a goal to work towards which is challenging and by suffering with my mental health I have built up resilience in battling with my brain which could help me in the race!
The second reason is to support this amazing charity - the Life Project, who work really hard to support people with learning disabilities. They provide crafting activities for them as well as allowing time for parents and carers to have some time to themselves and relax. It is an amazing charity that is very special to me. The life Project is also a Christian charity and God has helped provide them with the right people and resources to help people with learning disabilities and make a difference.
God has really helped me through the really tough times and I know that I am not alone and I will not be alone when I'm facing the challenge of running 21.1km!!😁
