With all the doom and financial gloom around, we felt that a little spirit-lifting was in order. The 'Best of British' project was a celebration of all that we have to be thankful for. Thanks to Blue Peter, most of us have grown up learning how to make a lot out of very little. Which other nation could find so many uses for a cereal box, loo roll and sticky-back plastic?

Why they need our service

Spending time in a group, with people in a similar situation, can be a great social outlet. Exchanging stories and life experiences, developing friendships and learning new skills makes our art activities a rewarding experience. We provide innovative activities, in an environment which is safe and friendly, where standards of care are high and people are encouraged to exercise choice.

Plan and expected results

Various workshops, including art, papier-mache, textiles, ceramics and drama were held four mornings a week at DRUM. Photographs of work in progress and further information can be viewed on our web site at www.drum.btck.co.uk
