On the 12th of May I will stepping into a boxing ring for the first time, for a white-collar charity-boxing match in aid of Tonic Music for Mental Health. Tonic raises awareness and challenges the stigma often associated with mental illness through music and art based events and is a local, Southsea based charity.
We have all been affected, either directly or indirectly with mental health and it is my ardent belief that “on the ground” charities like Tonic deserve as much support and help as possible, which is why I’m offering up my face (potentially) as sacrifice to their cause.
I am not a boxer, I’m the kind of person that falls over on flat surfaces… and yet I’m climbing into a boxing ring for three rounds with an opponent who is also doing this for charity. To say I’m nervous is a huge understatement, however I’m relishing in the challenge and as this event is the day before my birthday, it feels like a pretty fantastic thing to do before I turn 29!
So please give generously and for those of you who would like to see me getting punched in the face, come and speak to me about tickets for the show!!
THANK YOU!
