I lost my mum a couple of years ago due to cancer and my father has just had very intensive treatment to try and remove the dreaded disease, so I am asking for your support.
Why blister sisters - I have ran the Sheffield Half Marathon now for the last two years which all started out as a bit of a joke. Because my wife, daughter, family and friends run race for life each year at Doncaster as the blister sisters myself and John Sheerin decided to run the Sheffield half in the same outfits and boy did we know about it, we were so hot, dripping with sweat from the wigs but the atmosphere was amazing, it was a wonderful event and we were so overwhelmed by the tremendous support we received.  The following year a bunch of fantastic guys from our local running club (DAC) joined John and I and we had such a blast.   Most of us have ran Marathons or Ultras and been very competitive over the years but this day was purely demonstrating to everyone that running is fun and all about being part of a wonderful club, keeping fit & staying healthy
It then suddenly dawned on me that we could do this again (2020) but raise funds for a local cancer charity called Aurora, a charity my mum used and even helped support. A girl from our club called Kate Ball then suggested that the women could join us but run as Blister Misters and help raise funds too, she then rallied up approximately 25 girls from the club.
The charity is a wonderful charity who support local people when they need help the most.  The center supports local people and their families living with cancer, anyone diagnosed receives "FREE" support well-being holistic & beauty treatments which are provided by trained volunteers giving up their own free time to help people, their mission to help raise self esteem and build up confidence.  The charity is entirely reliant on fundraising events such as ours, so PLEASE, PLEASE help me because this allows them to continue to support local cancer patients and their families,  DAZ X
