On the 20th July 2024 I lost my best friend, my brother from another mother and the best work partner I could ever ask for.. Uncle B (as we all called him🤣), the life and soul of the party, the ‘family celebrity’, the best Brother, Uncle, Daddy to Bailey and the number one tape measurer at work.. the devastation caused has been beyond comprehension and we all miss you more than word could ever describe.. Men’s mental health statistics show that “77% of men polled have suffered with symptoms of common mental health conditions such as anxiety, stress or depression. 40% of men have never spoken to anyone about their mental health. 29% of those say they are "too embarrassed" to speak about it, while 20% say there is a "negative stigma" on the issue” (Priory, 2024). Statistics show that for ‘June 2024 male suicide rates were 16.4 deaths per 100,000 males’ (Gov, 2024) This is one of the reasons I want to participate in this charity boxing event raising money for Men’s Minds Matter a charity who “are passionate about men’s mental health, suicide intervention and prevention. We specialise in developing and delivering psychological interventions for individuals experiencing suicidal thoughts, while also advocating for and raising awareness about male suicide” (MMM, 2024).
Thankyou for all the support! Can’t wait to do you proud B♥️
