UPDATE following the walk In the end four of us completed the walk, arriving at AFC Fylde at 2pm in plenty of time for the match. We raised over £170 with a bucket collection at the game. We need just a couple of hundred pounds more to meet our target. Fundraising closes on January 6th, so please help us raise the extra money for our local good causes. Thank you for your support. ----------- Each year we do a sponsored walk to raise funds for the Supporters Trust and local good causes. This year we'll be assembling at Victory Park before dawn on Boxing Day to walk off our Christmas dinners on a twenty mile trek to Wesham to watch AFC Fylde v Chorley. We'll be walking whether or not the match is on, whatever the weather. Our chosen local good causes are Galloway's Society for the Blind and the newly launched Friends For You, a community organisation who visit lonely people in their homes for a chat. We will split the total raised as follows: 50% for our Fan Ownership Fund and 25% each to Galloway's and Friends For You. We've set up the Fan Ownership Fund because we think that the best possible owners for Chorley FC are the supporters. Community ownership is the best way to guarantee a long-term future for the club we love. You can find out more at http://cfcst.org/fan-ownership-fund/ We've got five confirmed walkers. Definitely in are Chris Blackburn, Dave Tindall, John Paul Lynch, Jue Vass and Mark Rees The elements will probably be against us, overindulgence the day before certainly will. Please support the Trust and our chosen charities and give us something to cling onto as we stagger through the wind and rain (and snow?). And if you want to join us, the more the merrier! Refreshments will be provided en route and we can offer a lift back to Chorley after the match.
