Earlier this year i joined a fabulous running group to try and improve my fitness and general wellbeing, i'm really not a natural runner! but i've stuck at it with the help of some lovely new friends (thank you so much to the fabulous Tempsie Ladies)
So... i've decided to challenge myself (before i turn the big 4-0...shhhhh) and run the 10K Abbey Dash on 5th November, it won't be fast, it won't be pretty, but i'm determined to make it over the finish line!
By doing this, i'm also hoping to raise some money for the fabulous folks I work for and also raise awareness of what we do. Purple Patch Arts is a Not for Profit Social Enterprise and we run multi sensory, creative education programmes for adults and young people with learning disabilities and complex needs. We are constantly challenging our participants to try new things, push through boundaries and and be whoever they want to be so I thought I would do the same, in honour of our wonderful Team Purple!
We would love to buy some giant dark den's to use in all of our programmes, they are basically big square tents that can be used as a portable sensory/chill out space (or a cave, and underground burrow, the bottom of a volcano, a black hole, the possibilities are endless!), and will be so useful to enhance learning and inclusion, especially for participants with more complex needs, so any money that you are able to give will go directly towards these.
Thanks so much in advance and do check out our pages below...(and if you're bored for something to do on 5th, please do wrap up, come down and wave something Purple!)
