Our 2022 Group 1 started in January - after a significant recruitment campaign following Covid exit. 15 currently going through formal training. The new 15 strong group from variety of Public Sector, Armed Forces and other Industries to give back to our community.
The team are - Rod, Yasmin, Phil, Nick, Alistair, Jane, Matt, Jonathan, Mo, Ben, Ieva, Steve, Martin, Lizzie, Self.
BSAR are part of Lowland Rescue (National Voluntary Organisation) that assist National Police Forces to search for Vulnerable missing persons. Other terrain of the UK coverage by Cave, Mountain and Coastguard services. BSAR like all these services are on-call 365x24x7. This fundraising effort is to cover the cost of team kit.
May 2022 update. Our training is near completion. We will soon be operational by June.
BSAR as well as searching also support local events and it's busy season coming including medical support for marathons and 10k, local and regional fetes and large shows. We are at Emergency Services Day Quainton this weekend.
Training has included, Searching methods (obviously), First Aid including Stretchers, Navigation, Administration, Kit, Equipment, Team Roles and the extensive other options that can come later including Bikes, Drones, Water Teams.
I am sure over the last 2 years you will have seen various local events and incidents that have needed BSAR support. Lowland extends nationally so like other emergency services we work across regions if more resources are needed across, Essex, Kent, Surrey, Oxford, Berks, Wiltshire and beyond.
