After completing the London Marathon in 2016 to raise money for Diabetes UK, I was riddled with a number of injuries, a sense of complacency and idle laziness.
Now, it is time to return to the world of running and what better time and place to do this than Cardiff on October 7th for Student Volunteering Cardiff.
When I was a student I did a lot of volunteering, mostly for Discovery - a project that connected students with struggling comprehensive students who wanted to see a clear path to university but where stifled by their background and upbringing.
SVC works with their local community offering projects to improve the lives of adults with learning disabilities, the elderly, awareness and support of mental health issues, tutoring for disadvantaged youth, sufferers of Dementia, and many more.
Any donations made to support SVC will be most gratefully and graciously received, but anyone who donates £6 or more can opt to GUESS MY TIME. Whoever guesses the time closest to my finishing time on October 7th will win a hamper filled with goodies such as WINE, CHOCOLATES, MORE WINE, GIFT VOUCHERS, AND MORE (possibly)!
The closest guess in the SOUTH WALES area will win a signed copy of "Swansea City Match of My Life: Swans Legends Relive Their Greatest Games".
The closest guess in the EAST ANGLIA area will also win a voucher for a Tasting Tour of the English Whisky Distillery in Norfolk.
So even if you are not the closest overall, you could still win!!
Terms and conditions:
1. Times can be chosen in half minute blocks (e.g. 1:45:00, 1:45:30, 1:46:00, 1:46:30)
2. The first person to write down a time guess will own that time, if someone else guesses the same time, they will have a time 30 seconds later. For example, BILL chooses 1:59:00 and BOB chooses 1:59:00. Because BILL chose that time first, BOB will be allocated 1:59:30 (unless someone else has that time in which case he will have 2:00:00, ad infinitum).
