I'm raising money for Gendered Intelligence to be able to take young trans people on a camping trip, which they have done for the last 6 years.
Gendered Intelligence run two camping trips a year, which are really popular with young people. Last year 140 young people applied for the 70 places available. This is an opportunity for young trans people to take part in activities and spend time with other trans people, free of stigma. One young person who attended GI's camping trip says: "Camp was a place I could be myself, a place where I didn’t worry about gender or the world outside, a place to forget about my problems for 4 days".
Gendered Intelligence (GI) is a not-for-profit Community Interest Company whose mission is to increase understanding of gender diversity through creative ways. GI aims to increase the quality of trans people’s life experiences, especially those of young trans people, to increase the visibility of trans people’s lives, and to raise awareness of trans people’s needs, especially those of young trans people, across the UK and beyond.
Please help me raise money for this cause, by donating to my doubtless shameful half-marathon efforts. Everyone is welcome to come and watch me sprain my ankle 30 metres from the finish line on 30th April.
