Hello, My name is Safiyah, I am 9 and I live with my mum, dad and two brothers. I wanted to let you know that I am organizing a charity walk on 15thof Juneto raise money for a local charity, Sunshine and Smiles. My friends and me will be walking from The Hollies to Golden Acre Park. It will be a real fun – we will be walking surrounded by a stunning nature, we will be passing some amazing places like Seven Arches Aqueduct, we might even see a deer, a hedgehog or a rabbit if we are lucky! We will set off around 10 am. We will walk approximately 4.4 miles! It shouldn’t take us more than 4 hours. Halfway through the walk (after approx. 2 miles) we will have a break for a picnic! Sunshine and Smilessupports children and young adults with Down Syndromeand my baby brother Yousef has this condition. It means that he has an extra chromosomeadded to his 21stchromosome. Having Down Syndrome means that person will have some learning difficultiesand might have some health issues– for instance, some kids are born with a hole in their heart. Kids with Down Syndrome need more help to learn about the world around them. You can recognise them with their cute almond eyes. I also have another cheeky little brother Noah, who understands the extra help Yousef needs. I am raising money for Sunshine and Smiles to help them support other families that look after children with Down Syndrome – just like my family. This is so they can continue to provide family support, facilitate various groups, swimming sessions, dance classes, speech therapies and more! This is so we can raise awareness, challenge perceptions and ultimately make the world a better place for all children! We would really appreciate if you could help with a little donation! Of course, you are also very welcome to join the walk!
THANKYOU!!!
