For 25 years the Speakeasy has been providing expert and independent legal advice to some of the most vulnerable people in Cardiff and across Wales. Every year they bring compassion and hope to more than 2,000 people who have been discriminated against and marginalised.
They help people to challenge unfair decisions that would otherwise leave them homeless or destitute. They hold landlords to account to make sure people have safe and secure places to live. They take carrier bags full of bills that people are too scared to open and help them renegotiate and write off their debts. They help people get control of their energy bills and keep their homes warm. They replace broken washing machines, cookers and boilers and make sure families in crisis can access emergency food.
In early May I’ll be cycling 250 miles, raising funds to support their work. Leaving Cardiff on May 4th, we'll be stopping in Hay-on-Wye, Borth and Llandovery before heading back to Speakeasy HQ in Cardiff on May 7th.
We’d love to raise £300 to support this fantastic cause so, if you’re able, please dig deep and sponsor us!
As an added bonus, the fundraisers who attract the highest number of sponsors in April will win up to £1,000 for their nominated charity. It doesn’t matter how much each person donates so please spread the word to your friends and make sure you donate before midnight on Monday April 30th.
Thank you,
