Last April, at 8 months old Nora's best friend, Nuno was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with AML, a form of Leukemia

With intensive chemotherapy cycles over months, Nuno spent majority of his time in hospital with some of that time in isolation.

The highlight of Nuno’s week was a visit from Louise, the music therapist from George’s Rockstars.

George's Rockstars are a charity who help children all over the south coast and in all types of hospital settings. Their mission is to make children in hospitals smile through the power of music therapy.

George's Rockstars brought a joyous break from the endless days, and a wonderful distraction to Nuno and his family during treatment.

Dani, Nuno's mum would often tell me when Louise from George's Rockstar came in and would share videos of Nuno dancing and playing instruments along with Louise, it was Nuno's little break of normality! Hospitals are scary places and music is a wonderful distraction.

Not only did Louise bring joy to Nuno but also to the whole family and something positive to focus on. It helped them know what day of the week it was as they rolled through the endless days, weeks and months in hospital. The hour of music therapy was like a trip to a music class or baby group a total treasure!

So to fundraise for such an amazing cause, a bunch of ladies will be abseiling down the Spinnaker Tower, 170 meters of falling, with but a rope to keep us safe!

I’m covering the costs of the abseil, so all monies raise will go directly to George’s Rockstars so they can continue to provide children the joy of music therapy.

Donate to this amazing cause, and wish us luck on the 11th of May!
