In order to climb the equivalent height of Pen Y Fan, on Sunday 28th June I will climbing my stairs 341 times.
I used to be a regular runner. I've completed the National Three Peaks and the Welsh Three Peaks three times. I injured my back in 2018 and my fitness has dwindled to nothing.
Age Connects Morgannwg has provided a lifeline to older and vulnerable people through the awful flooding in February and throughout the Covid-19 crisis.
People who would otherwise have struggled to get food and medicine have been kept well by the amazing volunteers and staff of Age Connects Morgannwg.
BUT lockdown has meant that all the fundraising events have had to be cancelled. These events provided much of the funding on which the organisation relies to survive and run. This has left a huge gap in the finances of the Charity.
I have decided to support the Age Connects Morgannwg Virtual Pen Y Fan Climb because I believe in the work they do and I believe I can do the challenge in spite of my back injury.
It won't be fast and it won't be pretty, but with your support hopefully it will support many older people living in the South Wales valleys to stay safe and well.
