Help!
I've just signed up to take part in the Clifton Lido's Midsummer Swim.
Sounds like a lovely way to spend a summer's evening but in reality, it's an overnight swim (as part of a relay team) that kicks off at 7pm on Saturday 21st and finishes at 7am on Sunday morning.
Why? Well, the Lido have chosen Square Food Foundation as their good cause for 2014. And, as some of you know, I've worked for this brilliant, one-of-a-kind community cookery school for a while now. It's an amazing place to work, full of inspirational people who work tirelessly to make it the success that it is.
At Square Food Foundation, we teach people from all walks of life to cook good food from scratch. Lido have supported us in various different ways since September 2013 and we're so grateful to them. They've raised more than £2000 so far that Square Food has used to offer bursary places for children for whom the fee is a barrier.
This weekend's swim is a fundraising event and along with a raffle and ticketed dinner, we're hoping it will raise at least £5000 for Square Food Foundation, helping us continue our work with vulnerable and at-risk adults and children in and around Bristol.
Thank you.
