Ok guys and gals now that i have your attention i would like to ask you all to give generously to me for the sponsored walk i am doing on New Years day with Chorley Supporters Trust. I was given a new lease of life last year and to date i have lost 9stone and now feel ready to push and challenge myself and to give back to charities and people in need. What a better way to start the new year than with a nice stroll to Southport (my home town) from Chorley. Its only 21 miles and shouldnt take too long. For those of you who know me know how much i used to moan about walking the slightest distance so to find myself wanting to walk 21 miles just shows how far i have come and how much i want to succeed in my first challenge. I dont for one minute think its going to be easy and if anyone would like to keep me going along the way then your more than welcome but im excited and cant wait. Below is some info on the charities we are raising monies for and i hope you will all help me to raise my mini target. This year, in addition to the Fan Ownership Fund we’re walking on behalf of a couple of local charities: Derian House Children’s Hospice and the Chorley Women’s Centre. Derian House provides palliative and respite care for children with life shortening illnesses and practical support to families through the highs and lows of the illness and beyond. Currently the centre is providing support to over 300 families. Chorley Women’s Centre provides emotional support to women experiencing difficult times in their lives (including domestic violence, mental health crises and sexual abuse) and works to improve their self-esteem and confidence through counselling and drop in sessions. The Trust Board felt that both these local charities were worthy of support as we continue to try and help those less fortunate than ourselves in our town. THANKS FOR READING AND THANKS FOR SPONSORING ME
