One Day C2C Bike Ride. Our challenge is to complete the 145 miles (225KM) bike ride from Whiteheaven to Tynemouth in a single day using moutain bikes. Taking part: Byron Beatty, Keith Storey & Adrian Newbould. Date: 6th August 2011. Target: £2000
Why they need our serviceThis fundraising activity is being undertaken so that we can provide 'BRAINBOXES', to children and young people in Newcastle's Royal Victoria Infirmary Paediatric Intensive Care Unit, containing items which will benefit the children experiencing traumatic Acquired Brain Injuries. We would also like to provide items that will benefit parents and families who spend so much time in the hospital. We are working with ward staff to identify the things that would make the children smile.
Plan and expected resultsByron, Keith and Adrian are planning to raise over £2,000 towards this BRAINBOX Project and will be met at the finishing line by BRAINBOX volunteers to celebrate their achievement. The project will promote the invaluable work that BRAINBOX provides to children and young people who have an Acquired Brain Injury, and their families in the North East.
