Hi, on the 11th September last year my wife lost her hard fought battle against breast cancer, her positive fighting attitude grabbed the hearts of a lot of people and the encouragement she got was unbelievable. Shortly after she was dianosed she received a bag from Hug in a Bag, this not only gave her a lift but made her want to get involved and give "Hugs" to other women, and in some cases men too. Rather than me try to explain where Hug in a Bag came from, what it stands for and what it does, have a look on the website which is www.huginabag.com and read about how these amazing women started this all off.
As I said, Gill wanted to get involved and help raise money for bags, but because of her condition she nominated me to do the physical stuff while she organised it. A group of us were supposed to do the coast to coast last September but sadly Gill died two days before the date so needless to say I wasn't in any fit state to peddle 156miles, but the rest of the lads still did it and raised an amazing amount of money.
Now its my turn - along with nineteen others on the 14th August this year we are riding from Barrow in Furness across to Redcar, about 173miles-ish but a lot harder route. Gill would be proud to know that I have kept involved with Hug in a Bag and its an honour to be able to do my bit to help, so please please please try to donate, no matter how small, to this very touching charity, these girls work very hard and do an amazing job and need all the support they can get.
I hope in never happens, but one day you just might need a "HUG".
Thank you.
