The Collett School is a “very” special school attended by children from all over Hertfordshire and the neighbouring Counties. Our children have many syndromes including Down's and 50% of our children have Autism. Two of our pupils have very rare diagnoses, one of whom is one of only two in the world, and another who is one of only six in the world. Almost half of our children are under Great Ormond Street Hospital. We are the only Learning Difficulties school in Hertfordshire to cater for 4 to 17 year olds. Increasingly, our provision is required to accept children with more complex needs. We desperately need support to provide suitable and safe spaces to help achieve our vision of equipping these children to be part of and contribute to our mainstream world. As it is, we have lost our Science, Art and IT rooms to accommodate the children, and have turned every cupboard into classrooms, therapist and counsellor rooms! We still, however, need to build two more learning spaces which need to be sensory and inspiring to meet the needs of our children. Can you help?
