Making a communion table frontal and associated hangings as a gift for Warley,St John's has led to the sharing of many new embroidery skills. Members have had to work closely in support of each other. We all feel tremendously proud of the result.
Why they need our serviceBeing a valued member of your community is fundamental to everyone. When you retire there is a risk of becoming isolated. Pleasant Pastimes is highly successful in helping people make the transition from work to retirement. Relaxed conversation over our activities enables members to find out about local activities and services as well as making beautiful art works together.
Plan and expected resultsThis enduring textile made in memory of the celebrations of the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2012 could still be in use by the church in 2112. The altar frontal can become part of the textile art heritage of Calderdale.
