To reduce the incidence of litter and dog fouling in public places within the town and district via a pro-active campaign - A similar campaign in 2013 proved to be a great success in reducing dog fouling in local parks and recreation grounds.

Why they need our service

Sustaining a direct approach is needed to educate the general public about litter in all its' shapes and forms. Currently the town and district is once again suffering from large amounts of litter and dog waste in public areas. The public need to be reminded that leaving litter can be classified as anti-social behaviour and can result in a criminal conviction for persistent offenders. A positive pro-active campaign will result in measurable improvements in a very short period of time

Plan and expected results

A measure of this campaigns success will be that we (as a community working together) actually reduce the incidence of recorded dog fouling and litter dropping in all public areas. A vibrant poster and action direct campaign will educate all residents and visitors that anti-social activities will not be tolerated. This campaign will commence in March 2014 until end of September 2014
