Reading Mencap is a small local charity that was founded 50 years ago by local parents/carers of children and adults with Learning Difficulties and Disability (LDD) and Autism to help themselves and others to provide support for those with LDD, so that they can lead a full and active life in their community. Reading Mencap’s ‘One Stop Shop' style of service offers a help-line, drop-in centre, Family Support Service, various clubs and activities, and campaigning both locally and natiowww.charitychoice.co.uk/fundraiser/jacquelinegrechnally to support those whom we serve. Although it is affiliated to the National Mencap it is entirely reliant on fund raising, donations and legacies as well as membership to enable it to continue to provide existing support and services and develop and implement new programmes for the local families affected by LDD and Autism.
Jacqueline Grech is participating in the Reading Half Marathon this year and has chosen Reading Mencap as the chosen charity to raise funds for.
