Hi, in a few weeks' time I'm going to be running the British 10k in London for Cruse Bereavement Care. I volunteer for the local branch of this charity which supports people affected by the death of someone close. Cruse services are free and open to all so we are very dependent on donations. Thank you for any support you can offer, Huw. :) Sunday (7 days to go) - What a nice day! Was going to go running today - hasn't happened yet but hey, perhaps it will! Wednesday (4 days to go) - Did a 20k run last Sunday after it had cooled down a bit and a hilly 6k yesterday so I think that will do now before the run in London. Had an email through from the Medical Director of the British 10k warning of the warm conditions expected on Sunday. Hmm, must remember to pack the sun cream! Saturday (1 day to go) - Just about to set off for London now. Got my nice purple vest to wear. Think I've got everything - including sun-cream. Apparently there's an app to got with the race called Virgin Sport Festivals - haven't got around to downloading that, maybe get the kids to do it this evening. Thanks once again for all the support. Will post a 'race report' once I'm back! Monday (day after) - What a huge event! I joined thousands of others to run the streets of Central London - Regent St., Haymarket, Pall Mall with great support along the way including some very lively bands. I was pleased with my time of 55m 28s, the water stations along the way were very welcome with most going on me rather than in me in an effort to stay cool! There were around 20 of us running for Cruse plus a lively group cheering us on, so as well as the money raised we hopefully did a bit to raise awareness. A big thank you to everyone!
