So, here we go again I can’t believe it’s almost a year since my gruelling 5 days in France blood sweat and a real sore undercarriage but what an amazing experience with a bunch of amazing people that got me through it raising money for such well worth causes. That’s where you lot come in, my amazing family and friends it’s your support that kept me pushing on through and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
So the next adventure a year on is 250 miles in 2.5 days around the sunny Norfolk broads!
Here's how the weekend plans out: 'The Friday Fifty', up to the coast near Cley-next-the-Sea, along to Sheringham and back to Skeyton. Saturday 20th we embark on the Norwich 100 loop taking in the rugby clubs around Norwich and back to Skeyton. Then to top it all off we have the 'hangover' Sunday Challenge to conclude the weekend. This last challenge will take us to the East Norfolk Coast. A compact 250 miles over 2.5 days.
We're raising vital funds for 3 amazing, local charities. The first being Willen Hospice, where my dad spent 3 days back in 1990, 9 years after they first opened their doors. I’ve just got such lovely memories of the care that he received and it's what spurs me on to do this bike ride as they’ve been supporting people in Milton Keynes and the surrounding area for 42 years. The Hospice have to raise £13,000 per day to keep running (Well done to all the Willen hospice team).
Our 2nd charity is MND, supporting former MKRUFC and professional rugby player Ed Stater. Last year, Ed was sadly diagnosed with Motor Nerone Disease and is keen to raise awareness through his 4ED fundraising campaign.
Then our 3rd charity is the amazing Milton Keynes Rugby Club, giving all kinds of opportunities for young people in Milton Keynes.
I know money is even tighter this time, but we have to remember it’s even tighter for these great charities. So, please give as much as you can for these worthy causes - it will be much appreciated by everyone.
