On Sunday, 8th September I’ll be cycling (yes, actually cycling on normal, non-electrically powered bike) 54 miles from London to Brighton to raise money for the Choir with No Name. This is a BIG challenge for me, physically and mentally. The hills are long and steep, I don't know how to fix a puncture and there’ll be no Margarita pit stops along the way! Your support will encourage me to make it to the finish line (as opposed to collapsing and calling a cab half way through). The ride includes lots of hills and should take me between 8 and 10 hours! :-) What’s that you say? If it’s so hard why on earth am I doing it?! Well, some of you may already know that I volunteer at The Choir with No Name. A charity that runs choirs for homeless and other vulnerable people. It’s a fantastically good cause, making a real difference to people by giving them the chance to express themselves, socialise and enjoy a hot meal every week. So despite my innate hatred of exercise and love of cake, when the choir said they were looking for people to cycle for them I got a bike! Your support means a lot, not just to me but everyone else at the North London choir so thank you! When donating, please remember to tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK taxpayer - this government scheme means that the choir will receive an extra 25% on top of your donation at no extra cost to you! Thanks again - I really appreciate all your support and any donations. To find out more about the Choir With No Name give me a shout or check out their webpage. Best, Jill P.S. Anyone that wants to come down to Brighton on the day and meet me at the finish line is welcome! x
