I am running a Full London Marathon* for KEEN LONDON!
- The Big Half on 3rd March - COMPLETED!
- Run Hackney on 20th May, with an added twist...
So it's currently Half time and I'm currently back in the changing room yammin on orange slices, refuelling and ready to go again.
(Anybody who knows me knows orange slices may have been substituted for Ice cream... no regrets)
Whatever, Bring on the PARACHUTE CHALLENGE!!
Running the Hackney Half with the KEEN parachute attached!!
Crazy it may seem, but it symbolises Keen and all we stand for. It is our rainbow flag of inclusion. It is the absolute cornerstone of every single session. What better than to be 6 years old and spinning around in a giant swirl of colour; to pretend you are a shark underneath the waves, drawing in innocent beach goers; to lie down under canvas after a blast of activities and feel the cooling wind wash over you. Parachute games are as limitless as the creativity of our coaches.
To fly the Parachute through Hackney is to say anything is possible, to spread a message of inclusion and joy, to tell 11,000 runners and thousands more cheering fans every child deserves a chance to play.
I'll be with 12 other volunteers and staff in TEAM PARACHUTE keeping it flying high :) Come cheer us on if you're local ;)
Keen London are a Charity I've been volunteering with over the past 2 years and have seen how great and valuable it is for the kids especially but also their families too.
I know any money raised will help them grow and help more families all over London :)
