Darley Green is a small layout that we take to exhibitions and events to raise the charity's profile and hopefully get new members. One day, this layout will become part of the big one in the building in Markeaton Park. There is still a lot of work to do to the scenery and to make operating easier. Why not join us and enjoy working for a community project?

There are people who visit Markeaton Park who need to feel valued, and who can benefit from visiting an under-cover project like our model railway. In this building they will keep dry and warm, and will see a lot of interesting models and details about Derby's railway heritage. There are also older people in Derby who wish they had room (or the money) for a model railway at home, but who could intead join us and find an excellent outlet for their skills. They could even learn new skills!

Exhibiting the small Darley Green model railway will bring our charity to the notice of a lot more people. We believe several volunteers would enjoy working with us to develop this model layout and improve its appearance as well as gaining them experience and skills.
