No so much a story but a chance conversation....a casual yep - I'm in' ...and some history ;o)
My name is Dave Harvey and at the end of May will do a Kilimanjaro trek in Tanzania 'for charridy'.
Two charities with 50% of donations going to each one:
1) Sporting Family Change (based in Bath and the West Country) and
2) National Amyloidosis Centre : UCL : London which I am a patient (see below!)
Sporting Family Change fundraisers is the group of folks that I am going with on the trek so wish to contribute 50% of donations to them..

National Amyloidosis Centre : UCL : London
Most of you who know me already know there is something very wrong with me ;o) This was only confirmed four years ago by the UCL Amyloidosis unit in London by a fantastic team headed up by Professor Philip Hawkins and Dr Helen Lachmann. A genetic anomaly....confirms everyones 'alien' suspicions I know......attacks my anti-inflammatory/immune system.....and very simply .....it 'really really hurts' when it kicks off randomly!!! Trial drugs and steroids is the cure but also being a stubborn mule means that I have not succumbed yet and try and look after myself currently and only take when needed. I thought I'd better get these adventurous jaunts in before I get too old or too knackered!
If you really want to know what all the fuss is about then look at https://www.ucl.ac.uk/amyloidosis/nac/fever-syndromes and its under 'TRAPS'.

Please feel free to sponser me as generously as possible and those we help will be eternally grateful. Check out my webpage/blog in progress : https://kiliyhillybilly.com
Funds will be split 50/50 from the total below to be clear!
None of these charity sites support a 50-50 split function.......or that I found.
Thanks
Dave
ps: I know the picture is the Matterhorn before I get ribbed! (2 years ago)
