I’m the trustee for an amazing small community charity in Nechells, one of the most disadvantaged wards in Birmingham. The Nechells POD relies on small grants to provide kids holiday clubs, a food bank, a warm space, the local library, a variety of exercise and social classes, plus access to a huge variety of talks and activities to support the local residents. The challenges facing Birmingham City Council means the community will be ever more reliant on the community centre and the brilliant, small team who run it.
