For those of you that don't know I am leaving West Yorkshire. Bradford has been my home for 37 years and I will be leaving my home town in the next few months.
As I am leaving the area I was looking for a way to say goodbye to Bradford and what better way to say goodbye than by seeing the city from a new perspective whilst hanging of the side of a building all with the aim of doing something good for the community.
The event takes place on 16th April where I will be abseiling down the side of Margret McMillan Tower (formally the Bradford Central Library)...it's a pretty tall building in Bradford city center.
The Lord Mayor's appeal aims to raise £3,000 in aid of Bradford Hospitals Children's Charity and Spread a Smile which provides small grants for organisations and smaller groups across the Bradford district.
I have agreed to pledge and cover the minimum donation myself therefore any further donations made will help us to raise the bar and smash the target.
It is with this in mind that I ask you all to please give what you can, all donations are well received no matter how large or small and it's all for a good cause.
So please give what you can.
Many thanks.
David Clough.
