Hi, I'm Debs.
On one spontaneous (slightly crazy) night in December, I decided to bite the bullet and sign up for the Edinburgh marathon. It has always been a permanent fixture on my bucket list as something I have always wanted to do but never thought it would really happen. Well, now it has happened! On Sunday I completed the Edinburgh Marathon! It's taken every piece of motivation and dedication I have in me to train almost everyday for the past 5 months, but supporting Prosper in their amazing work makes it all seems a lot more meaningful.
I am a primary teacher working within one of the key communities that Prosper is supporting. I have witnessed first hand the life changing work they do within the community and the impact that it has on the children I work with. The school itself is the type of place you walk into and immediately feel part of the family. The funding I hope to raise from running this marathon will go towards continuing Prosper's community development work in and around the school. A specific aim will be funding towards the building of a new tree house within Jolly John's Play Farm which is situated within the School grounds. The potential for this new facility is endless, from developing the children's love of nature to providing an ideal quiet space for them to read and reflect.
Its not too late to donate and make a real difference...
