Well we set up the Riff Raff Society to assist good people when the shit hits their fan.
Over the past 7 years the charity I help to run has gathered a fabulous cornucopia of loving positive connections, brothers, sisters and good, good people - friends. All of whom have invested time (Good times) & money into helping out others.
Every now and then the true meaning of the charity kicks in when those that have contributed with an open heart find themselves up shit creek and they need the support back from the many.
Just had this funding application in from David Cox. As well as being a charity hospital DJ in Wythenshawe Hospital for many years this fella has took a keen interest in The Riff Raff Society. He’s done epic long distance charity swims for the riff raff, he has brought his Brass band to play the national anthem at footy tornament and has also D.J’d at many of our kids events for peanuts including last xmas’s gathering for Kayden and Madison. Without being disrespectful the guy is too kind. He’s a great DJ butk he often gives his time too cheaply (Because he would never rip anyone off) The downside of that is he’s skint. When your skint (from being too kind) and problems arise when you have to go and launch the life raft unfortunately the life raft then isn’t fit for purpose.
So here’s David’s situ
In April of 2017 his Mrs - Rosrmary went into hospital and had to have an emergency operation. This was due to an artery bursting to her liver. She was in ICU for a few weeks with severe breathing problems and it was a frightful time. David feared he might lose her. Thankfully she came through. In the same year they were hit with the news in September that his brother Graham (51) had been diagnosed with pulmonary cystic fibrosis, COPD and emphysema.
2018 hasn't got any better for them. Rose has been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer and is currently going through chemo. Brother G has just passed with no life insurance. Kind David needs help
