The Amersham Band Development Fund has been established to support the growth and development of our Intermediate Band and our Beginner Group. These bands aim to encourage new and intermediate level brass players to develop music making skills and to appreciate musical culture. Our aim is to broaden participation and to make the bands more accessible across the local community.

The project will help us fund additional activities and to secure the support of professional teaching resources. We also intend to use the fund for workshops and classes, to purchase sheet music, and to buy additional instruments for loan to band members.

The bands will increase in size and improve in playing standard. The Intermediate Band will be able to give concerts and play at local events such as fetes. The beginner group will also be able to perform in public. Depending on progress and availability of funds, in the medium term we hope to be able to work towards establishing a brass academy together with an associated youth band.
