The discovery day's project focuses on running a variety of activities such as cooking sessions, training opportunities as well as social activities, that assist our young people who are leaving or have left the care system to build a variety of skills. These can include social activity opportunities such as meals out, bowling, ice skating, as these activities are chosen by the young people!
Why they need our service
The project provides an opportunity for young people to engage in social activities, informal education and give back to other local and national organisations, which helps increase employability skills.
Plan and expected results
We have supported several cohorts of young people through this intervention. As a result young people have engaged and maintained in education, employment or training as well as increase soft touch skills such as communication, organisation, team work and confidence.
