20 staff from Yorkshire Bank's Bradford Customer Banking Team will be competing aganist 44 other teams in the Bradford Lord Mayor Appeal Dragonboat Festival on the 7th May.
The event will be the largest ever Dragon Boat event in the North of England so competition will be tough, but most importantly it's about raising funds for two local charities which really make a difference across the district.
Bradford Hospital’s Children’s Charity - The Charity is raising money for a variety of equipment to support the new children’s ward at Bradford Royal Infirmary.
On their wish list is a sensory room, multi-use gym for those children with cystic fibrosis and innovative distraction toys and games as well as beds for parents who are able to stay with their children and help with their care.
We all hope that our children will never be the ones that need this service but for those who do we must ensure that they have the very best of care in excellent facilities. Some young people including children and babies can be in hospital for as little as a day or in many cases their stay can be lengthy or repeated, particularly for those children with chronic conditions.
“Spread a Smile” Appeal - The charity provides small grants for organisations and smaller groups across the Bradford District. There are some fantastic things going on across the District organised by the community and voluntary sector and often it can be difficult for groups and organisations to find funding for their projects, events and activities. These smaller pots of funding enable groups to enhance their projects. Funding not availabel elsewhere.
Please give generously, your support is very much appreciated.
