After a visit to the Pancake Race and Shriving service at Olney on Shrove Tuesday, Duncan started a Lent book project with Grace.
Some of the family offered to sponsor him for Milton Keynes Foodbank , per book read!
Duncan has been a supporter of, and former volunteer with MK Foodbank when he retired, and is passionate about what they do for individuals and families struggling to buy enough food.
This reading project started with Horseman of the King (Upton Park Methodist Church Sunday School prize), and he has now completed The Hiding Place, Amazing Grace- a Biography of William Wilberforce, The Cross and the Switchblade, Run Baby Run ,Tramp for the Lord, Cross the Line and They Carried the Sword ( Barnardo)
Grace, however, definitely slower progress (!) with a beautiful copy of John Bunyan`s Pilgrim`s Progress still to finish!
Grateful to Jane and Derek at MK Christian books for finding some wonderful second hand copies for us !
