ECBG fundraising for Ely Foodbank

Over 1m people were helped by Foodbanks in Britain last year – that is over 1m occasions when our fellow citizens in Britain – our neighbours - found themselves in such desperate poverty that they were not able to feed themselves. These people ARE OUR neighbours because the Ely Foodbank, operating from Ely and 6 surrounding villages, helped over 3500 adults and 2000 children in the last year. Ely Cathedral Business Group (ECBG) has committed itself to raise £5000 per year to support the Ely Foodbank for 2015, 2016 and 2017. We met this target last year, and this LOCAL GIVING page has been set up for the 2016 fundraising campaign. ECBG believes that there is a strong correlation between healthy business and the wellbeing of our community, and this fundraising is one way that business people are able to support the community.
